Next week will be a big (and very important) week for Java. There has been a lot of doubt, speculation, hope, concern, fear about the future of Java since Sun Microsystems was acquired by Oracle. Does it mean the start of a ‘golden era’ of development and growth or is the end of and time to look elsewhere?
JavaOne is the big event of the Java calendar and the one where all big announcements are made so it is our chance to see what is going to happen. Will Oracle show a bold, creative plan which we can embrace or leave us wondering?
There have been some positive suggestions but next week will show us. I am hoping Oracle will give us a bold strategic view which builds on Sun’s works and takes us forward. Stay tuned at the Javaone site. What would you like to see?
Do you need to solve any of these problems in Java?
