A New NetBeans Day for 2016…

There has always been a NetBeans Day as part of JavaOne for San Francisco. In 2015, the NetBeans community decided to try to host additional NetBeans Days around the world to make it possible for more people to attend.

In 2015, there were NetBeans days in every continent (except Antarctica!) and we organised our first NetBeans UK event in the UK at Greenwich University (within easy reach of Central London).

The idea of NetBeans days is to organise a set of ‘smaller’, Community events which are loosely based around a central theme of NetBeans (which is a very wide range of languages, frameworks and techniques). The event is free to attend (with refreshments) and targeted at both professional software developers, students and anyone with a general curiosity.

I am very pleased that we will be running a second Netbeans UK day in 2016, on Tuesday 31st May. It will again be hosted by the University of Greenwich, and you can sign up for a free ticket on Eventbrite.

The speakers will be announced shortly (let us know if you are interested in doing a talk) and we hope to see you there.

You’ve just informed an University of Greenwich student about a great event being held as close as it could be. Thank you, and see you there and then.
