Minecraft
MineCraft and Java Coding in San Francisco

JavaOne is less than a month away so I will be highlighting some of the interesting events going on at JavaOne or in San Francisco. If you are attending JavaOne, I recommend you arrive on friday because there are lots of things to do on saturday and sunday….

On saturday morning I will be going to a free MineCraft hacking event organised by our friends from Epik (who are also speaking at JavaOne on getting adults and children into coding by hacking the Minecraft). I am told the event is being targeted at beginners and the emphasis will be on fun and getting everyone involved (so you do not need to worry about being a hardcore hacker to attend). If you or your kids just want to learn a bit more about Minecraft or coding, it will be ideal….

So if you live in San Francisco or are in town visiting, I hope to see you there. Details at http://www.meetup.com/MineCraft-SF/events/150537182/.

  1. I’m taking my 8yo daughter to this and we’re very excited for her to be with other Minecraft kids and peer mentors. I hope lots of parents take advantage of this event. It will be so cool!

  2. LD Awesome you are coming with your Daughter! Please share with other parents who have kids into Minecraft, its as much about the kids as about the parents engaging with kids in stuff they love, as mum to a Minecraft mad daughter aged 7 next week, we never argue about playing minecraft together, homework and chores all the time! 😀
